Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection is adding a fifth “Super Ship” to its fleet of floating boutique hotels on European waterways. The River Beatrice will be transformed into the S.S. Beatrice after an extensive bow-to-stern renovation, setting sail on its inaugural on April 4, 2018.
The upgrade (as opposed to new-build) is a first for the line with luxury design provided by Uniworld’s sister brand, Red Carnation Hotels. All public spaces and rooms will be redesigned with “meticulous craftsmanship and original artwork, as well as the latest innovations and high-tech amenities available on the rivers.”
The vessel will also have a “fresh, sleek look with a graceful bow, redesigned lounge and an elegant grand staircase – a signature design element of Uniworld’s Super Ships.”
Additional dining venues will include a private space to replace the Captain’s Lounge and Library. Two new Royal Suites measuring 114 sq. m. and an additional Owner’s Suite are being created. The ship’s 12 existing suites will be refreshed and Uniworld has added connecting rooms which are ideal for families travelling together.
Based in Los Angeles, Uniworld touts itself as “the world's most luxurious, all-inclusive river cruise line” featuring luxurious ships with an average capacity of 130 guests, exclusive excursions, gourmet cuisine, and one of the highest staff-to-guest ratios in the river cruise industry. It offers all-inclusive itineraries in Europe, as well as voyages in Russia, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, and Egypt—a total of 22 rivers in 26 countries worldwide.
