Christmas celebrations at Universal Orlando have begun with a full slate of activities continuing right through to Jan. 6. Highlights include first-time festivities in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a new look for Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s, a visit from the Grinch (who promises not to ransack the theme park’s decorations), a full concert schedule from Mannheim Steamroller, and more.
• The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: For the first time ever, Christmas is coming to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando. Visitors will be surrounded by uniquely themed Christmas decorations, garlands and lights as they walk the streets of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. There will also be special holiday-themed food and holiday performances, and, at night, state-of-the-art projection mapping and lighting will wrap Hogwarts castle for “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle.”
• Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s: This massive all-new parade will highlight traditional holiday favourites and popular current characters, featuring more than 30 larger-than-life floats and balloons, more than 100 performers, and appearances by the Minions and other favourites from Despicable Me, Madagascar and Shrek – and more.
• Grinchmas: A live retelling of Dr. Seuss’s holiday classic highlights the “Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular,” while the merry Whos from Who-ville celebrate the true meaning of the season at Seuss Landing at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Clients can also book a festive breakfast with the Grinch and his friends on select dates.
• Mannheim Steamroller: The classic holiday music specialists returns to Universal Orlando for an ongoing series of live concerts. Remaining dates are; Dec. 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17.
