Air Transat has marked Feb. 18, 2018, for its return to Puerto Rico and has concluded that it will not fly to Saint-Marten for the remainder of the winter season. Both islands were devastated by hurricanes this fall, significantly disrupting tourism to the destinations.
Flights to San Juan, Puerto Rico, will include one departure per week from Toronto, and one from Montreal.
Transat notes that it has shifted resources to other popular sun destinations – Punta Cana and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic; Montego Bay, Florida, including Tampa, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale; Cuba, mainly Cayo Largo and Holguín; and Mexico, mainly Cancun and Puerto Vallarta – to meet customer’s needs.
