Tourism New Zealand launches its new trade website (www.traveltrade.newzealand.com) this week which is now easier for travel agents to use, with a new section providing suggested itineraries for agents to offer their clients.
As the primary source of information to help travel sellers learn more about New Zealand and how to sell it, the site provides training tools and resources such as online modules and the 100% Pure New Zealand Specialist program.
The redevelopment was initiated to ensure the site provides current, relevant educational resources and tools - both to those new to selling New Zealand and those familiar with the country. The site's look and feel has now been aligned with Tourism New Zealand's consumer website, www.newzealand.com.
Tourism New Zealand's General Manager Americas & Europe, Gregg Anderson says the new trade website provides a strong platform to further promote the 100% Pure New Zealand Specialist program.
"The 100% Pure New Zealand Specialist program is a free online training tool that assists travel sellers to increase their knowledge, capability and sales of New Zealand as a destination," he says.
To help shape the new direction of the website and ensure content meets the needs of the travel industry, research was completed in three offshore markets, with travel agents and product managers testing website prototypes and completing tailored interviews.
"New content providing regional selling points has been added and new itineraries have also been developed and added for each region," Anderson added.
The site is now available in English, Korean, simplified Chinese and Japanese, and will be translated into French, Portuguese, Latin American Spanish and Bahasa Indonesia in the coming months.
Tourism New Zealand will continually update and develop the website to ensure the content stays fresh and relevant.
