Silver Airways is to initiate daily nonstop flights between Orlando and Key West beginning Monday, June 9.
Two flights are to be offered daily and take approximately 80 minutes. The airline plans to use 34-passenger Saab 340B Plus aircraft for the route.
On June 9, a daily afternoon flight is to depart Orlando International Airport for Key West International Airport at 4:24 p.m. Utilizing a different Silver aircraft, a Key West-to-Orlando departure is set for 5:35 p.m.
A second daily flight is to be added three days later. Beginning Thursday, June 12, the schedule also calls for departures from Key West to Orlando at 12:10 p.m. and flights back slated for 1:25 p.m.
As well as inaugurating nonstop Orlando/Key West flights, Silver Airways is to continue offering nonstop service between the island city and Florida's Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers and Tampa.
In addition, passengers can choose connecting flights to dozens of destinations beyond Florida through the airline's codeshare and interline ticketing partnerships.
"Silver Airways is an air carrier partner with both United and Jet Blue, which will provide an increase in convenience and access to other cities for our passengers," said Monroe County Director of Airports Peter Horton.
