Susan Grant, Air Canada’s regional GM for business development, explains how Gary Howard of CAA Atlantic in Saint John, New Brunswick, went the Extra Mile for some Air Canada clients…
“In late May, he was preparing to fly home to Saint John from Halifax. On that flight we were unfortunately unable to accommodate a family of three. Mom and the six-year-old daughter had seats, but Dad did not, and the little girl was crying because Dad could not go with them.
“Gary gave up his seat in order to allow two tired parents and an inconsolable child to travel together. The family were very appreciative and his reward was a big hug from the child.
“This selfless act resulted in Gary spending yet another night in a hotel as the next flight was not until the following morning. Air Canada’s offered Gary a voucher for future travel and he is donating it to charity.
“Travelling with children is both rewarding and challenging. Gary Howard recognized this and took action to improve this family’s experience of flying with Air Canada. Taking care of customers is reflected in the corporate culture at CAA Atlantic and it is comforting to know that our mutual customers are in good hands.
Gary, Air Canada is proud to have a partner like you. Thank you for going the Extra Mile for our customers.”
