Clients learn firsthand from professional photographers
Your client is going on a voyage of a lifetime--so why not suggest that they learn how to take professional looking pictures of their dream voyage and share those memorable pictures with friends and family.
Hurtigruten is introducing a complimentary photography and digital media program for its voyages to Antarctica from November 2016 to March 2017 on board the MS Midnatsol.
GLP Worldwide Expedition Travel and Tours is the Canadian representative for Hurtigruten.
“Hurtigruten has arranged to have some of the world’s best nature and wildlife photographers on board and they will share their expertise and tips in free workshops for passengers," said Alan Law, GLP Worldwide Expedition Travel and Tours' director of sales and marketing.
“Antarctica offers visually stunning landscapes as well as an opportunity to photograph wildlife and marine life from whales to penguins."
No matter what their photography skill level, you clients will learn something from the professional photographers on board. The program includes lectures on basic still and video photography technique, tips for handling cameras in extreme conditions and an introduction to wildlife photography and in-field sessions.
During the voyage a special Hurtigruten television photography channel will highlight the day’s photography from both professionals and passengers. At the conclusion of the voyage, passengers will be able to access a curated compilation of the images and videos made.
There are six Discovery Antarctica itineraries that the photography workshops will be included:
- Legendary Magellan Chilean Fjords and Antarctica, where guests celebrate the holidays in the fjords, Falkland Islands and Antarctica; 18 days, priced from $11,205.
- Discover Patagonia & Antarctica, an in-depth exploration of these two great sites; 16 days, priced from $10,210.
Hurtigruten has been sailing polar waters for more than 120 years, has more combined experience than any other operator and maintains the highest maritime reputation. The MS Midnatsol is a purpose-built ice class 1X ship with open seas stabilizers, forward-scanning sonar, ice radar and an extensive range of safety equipment and an expert staff–making it ideally suited for maneuverability in the waters of Antarctica.
Landings and ‘iceberg cruising’ are accommodated in sturdy and versatile landing crafts, launched from the side of the ship so that guests are able to get in and out of the craft while protected from winds and weather. This leaves the ship’s top deck open for guest enjoyment.
Additionally, the Midnatsol’s two-story panoramic lounge and large expanses of windows makes Antarctica’s stunning scenery viewable from incredibly comfortable environs throughout the ship for a maximum 500 passengers.
