The atmosphere was buzzing in the Vancouver TravelBrands office yesterday, as senior Boomerang and Exotik executives revealed a series of technological web-based advances and a whole plethora of exciting new trips Downunder.
“Our South Pacific agents are extremely savvy,” explained David Boigne, specialty product vice-president at Exotik Tours and Boomerang Tours. “With the new reservation system, you can provide sample itineraries based on the client’s time and budget. Eventually we would like travel agents to log in and create their own itineraries. Everything is very responsive, and it will all be linked to inventory and pricing—so it is much faster to price.”
The new system will allow Boomerang to provide more in depth product information, confirm reservations and deal with additional requests at the click of a button.
Boigne confirmed that the company aims to extend this service to its Exotik products too.
The move comes hot on the heels of the both Boomerang and Exotik—companies that only accept bookings from travel agents—launching impressive new websites in May.
New Downunder product includes: ‘Blue Mountains and Jenolan Caves Historical Tour (three nights), ‘Great Ocean Road with a Twist’ (four nights), ‘Icons of Desert Discovery (three nights) and ‘Southern Great Barrier Reef – Lady Elliot Island’ (five nights).
