Haven Riviera Cancun — a luxury adults-only, all-inclusive that opened in fall 2018 — stands out from its Cancun and Riviera Maya competition. High-end clients will love it and advisors will love the commissions and incentives, including a Preferred Haven Agent education course. Recently, we visited the property for a first-hand look. Here's what advisors need to know about selling Haven Riviera Cancun.

The Property

Haven Riviera Cancun caters to those looking for relaxation and space. It’s located just 15 minutes from the airport, within the marine protected area of Puerto Morelos (between Cancun and Riviera Maya). The region was recently dubbed "the Golden Mile."

Unlike many wedged-shaped Cancun-area resorts, Haven Riviera Cancun’s beachfront is generous and almost every room has a sea view, as do the pools and main building. With just 333 suites, guests won’t feel crowded on this 250-acre property, whether on the beach, in one of the immense pools, or partaking in any of the resort’s ammenities, including the hydrotherapy spa.

The Rooms

Billing itself as an “all-exclusive experience,” guests can choose between a standard suite or one of the 88 Serenity Club suites. The best views are reserved for the latter, though most rooms have at least a partial ocean view. Many Serenity Club suites have a swim-up pool, either oceanfront or surrounding the lake-like pool. Guests selecting the Serenity Club also have a separate check-in area (complete with a brief hand and shoulder massage), butler service, an à- la-carte, pool-front breakfast restaurant, the Serenity Club lounge, a Serenity Club beach area with butler service, special VIP surprises, as well as daily access to the spa’s hydrotherapy circuit.

Standard suites have lots of extras too, including a whirlpool tub on the balcony and a daily-stocked personalized minibar. All guests can enjoy the yoga classes, various ball courts, cooking classes and tastings, plus the two-tiered rectangular pool (often with a DJ creating an Ibiza-style groove) and the grand, circular pool (complete with palm trees, a beach-like entry and a wide selection of pool toys to float in).

Spa & Wellness

A Haven Riviera Cancun highlight is the 15,700-square-foot MySenses spa. In addition to an innovative menu of spa offerings in nine beautiful suites, MySenses has a sprawling hydrotherapy circuit. The ritual starts with a serene head and shoulder massage. Guests then do a circuit in the pool, visiting various tension-relieving jets and showers which target specific muscles. Next comes a series of hot-and-cold showers, steam baths, dry sauna, ice fountain and plunge pool. Serenity Club guests can visit daily at no additional charge.

Dining & Entertainment

Haven Riviera Cancun takes its food and beverage seriously. Bartenders make — and invent — drinks to order, based on the preferences of each guest. Most restaurants are found in the main building and are à la carte, rather than buffet. Almost everything is included, with the exception of bottles of wine and Champagne and a few specific steak cuts. Restaurants that do offer a buffet have many cooked-to-order stations and buffet selections are beyond what most resorts in the region provide. Just off the lobby is Mocaccino, serving expertly-made coffees, pastries and housemade ice creams. There are two nightly cabaret shows at Moons

Excursions

Should guests want to leave the resort, excursions are available. Haven Riviera Cancun is one of the closest hotels to the newest Grupo Xcaret park, Xavage, with its adrenaline-inducing thrill experiences. For something calmer, local chef Alejandra Kauachi from Mexico Lindo Traditional Kitchen Workshop and School occasionally does cooking demonstrations onsite and accepts bookings for her cooking classes, a 25-minute drive away.

What's next?

For late 2020, Haven Riviera Cancun plans a 25,000-square-foot Convention Centre with an additional 105 rooms aimed for the MICE market.

There are no timeshares or a vacation club at Haven Riviera Cancun. The resort is part of the family-owned Spanish Haven Hipotels group, and a member of the Preferred Hotels and Resorts L.V.X. Collection and of the American Express’s 2020 Hotel Collection.
