Snow Madness In Utah
Known for having The Greatest Snow on Earth®, the state of Utah is heading into the winter season with a wealth of new terrain, luxurious accommodations, on-mountain enhancements and adventure-packed packages to entice eager skiers and riders. A comprehensive list can also found at www.skiutah.com:
The Canyons, Park City: Introduces North America’s first heated chair lift, designed to evoke the feeling of being inside a pair of ski goggles; a new direct-connect gondola; 91 hectares of expanded terrain and enhanced snowmaking capabilities.
Deer Valley Resort, Park City: Opening this month, Montage Deer Valley Resort is a ski-in/ski-out property that features a 3,220 square-metre spa, après-ski terrace, two dining venues, meeting space and a state-of the-art recreation area.
Powder Mountain, Eden: Has expanded its guided Snowcat Powder Safari to include an additional 300 hectares of expert chutes and bowls. Adventure-seekers can also take advantage of new guided backcountry tours of Wolf Creek Canyon.
Alta Ski Area, Alta: Offers a ski camp – All Mountain Ski Adventures led by freeskiing champion Gordy Peifer, that provides participants with video analysis of their skiing and expert critiques.
Sundance Resort, Sundance: The recently completed Redford Conference Center features  of 322-square-metres of meeting space, reception areas, wrapping patios, large group fireplace and a full-service catering kitchen.
Snowbasin, Huntsville: Adds a 10-metre superpipe this season; and hosts the world’s top freeskiers and snowboarders at the final stop on the Winter Dew Tour, February 10 to 13, 2011.

What’s New In The Big Easy
A US $400 million modernization project is underway at the New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport. A $16.9 million terminal improvement project that will double the size of Concourse D, creating six new gates and space for concessions; and a $58.5 million construction project will increase rental car capacity from 800 cars to approximately 1,800. The CONRAC will also eliminate the need for off site shuttles to rental car facilities currently scattered throughout the area. Both Air Canada and WestJet fly between Toronto and New Orleans.
Carnival Cruise Lines has committed an additional ship to New Orleans. The Carnival Ecstasy, a 2,617- passenger ship, begins sailing four- and five-night cruises year-round from New Orleans on September 22, 2011. New Orleans is also the home port of the Carnival Triumph, which will be replaced by the Carnival Conquest, in November 2011. Also, the 3,835-passenger Voyager of the Seas from Royal Caribbean International will call New Orleans its homeport beginning November 12, 2011, sailing seven-night cruises to the Western Caribbean.
