Cruise To The Past
You can now take a boat cruise from Captiva Island to the Edison & Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers. The cruise explores the Caloosahatchee River and its cultural and ecological importance and includes lunch at a private club and a tour of the Estates. A new Wednesday Boat Cruise includes the company of “Mr. and Mrs. Edison,” local wildlife, a waterside view of the Edison and Ford Estates, and a historic tour of the river with naturalist commentary. www.edisonfordwinterestates.org

The New C
Terminal C, the third terminal is now open at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, with international facilities to serve flights to Mexico and Central America in the future. For now, Southwest and Frontier anchor the facility. The new terminal is part of the airport’s $543.1 million Airport Improvement Program that includes additional parking spaces, expanded and enhanced concession and retail offerings. John Wayne Airport has also partnered with FreeFi Networks to provide free wireless internet access to passengers throughout the concourses, lounges and concession areas of JWA’s Thomas F. Riley Terminal.

Arizona Is 100
Arizona celebrates its centennial on February 14, 2012. Activities, events and exhibits continue through December 2012 and include: the raffle of the Centennial’s official Copper Chopper (motorcycle) in February; The Centennial Film Festival in Prescott screening films shot in Arizona from the silent era through today; and “Arizona’s Best Fests” February 10 to 12 in Phoenix.
